Kilns used to harden ceramics regularly reach temperatures in the range of 1000-1400 degrees Celcius (~1800-2500 degrees Fahrenheit). For this reason, this ceramic pendant by Surly Amy was one of the few objects that could survive the heat of a house fire which likely reached comparable temperatures. Surly Amy’s pithy slogan is a strangely fitting reminder that even after the most personal and devastating losses, life marches on.
