The advent of dissolvable, biocompatible sutures was a great boon to the biomedical field. Now comes “bioresorbable electronics including transistors, diodes, wireless power coils, sensors and even a 64-pixel digital camera”, meant to perform their function and then dissolve, leaving no trace within the body.
