The 2016 Annual Biomedical Research Conferences of Minority Scientists boasted one of its largest attendance, yet - over 4,000 registered participants including nearly 2,000 undergraduates, most of them presenting research posters and with their eyes on snagging graduate study opportunities in the near future. It's amazing to be in a professional science conference space and the experiences and expertise of people of color predominant, normalized even. With a strong historical participation of students from minority serving institutions, ABRCMS is the scientific birthplace of many, if not most African-, Native, and Latin American biomedical research scholars in this nation.
DNLee is a biologist and she studies animal behavior, mammalogy, and ecology . She uses social media, informal experiential science experiences, and draws from hip hop culture to share science with general audiences, particularly under-served groups.
