Talking the Blackest Black with the Mad Art Cast

Mad Art Cast, the podcast of the science-art site Mad Art Lab recently asked Symbiartic's Glendon Mellow to join them and discuss the #SciArt hashtag, the new material Vanta Black, and more

This article was published in Scientific American’s former blog network and reflects the views of the author, not necessarily those of Scientific American

Oh-ho, see what they did there? One of the ways scientists display Vanta Black's near perfect non-reflective nature is by coating crumpled aluminum foil with it. Very cool graphic with the Mad Art Cast logo.

After declaring fine artist and jelly bean maker Anish Kapoor a super-villain, I was invited by the delightfully mad members of the Mad Art Lab, Surly Amy, Brian, Ashley and AB to talk about Vanta Black and the world of sciart online.

You can listen to the podcast on their site, or find other episodes on iTunes
