I just got off the phone with Erik Vance, a freelancer covering the Bigfoot press conference in Palo Alto, Calif., for us. We'll be posting his story as soon as we can this afternoon, but here are the highlights:
-- The three men claiming they had found Bigfoot -- Matthew Whitton, Rick Dyer, and veteran Bigfoot tracker Tom Biscardi of Searching for Bigfoot, Inc. -- brought no physical evidence of the creature.
-- There were a few photos on display, one of some sort of primate jaw, and one of some kind of creature walking through the woods.
-- They brought an e-mail printout from Curtis Nelson, the University of Minnesota biologist testing three samples of the animal's DNA. According to Nelson, two were human, and the other was a combination and human and possum. Was that what this animal was eating before it died?
More to come.
Update: here's our full story.
