I was hunting around for some topics to write about this week and I discovered that cracked.com have started doing my job! They have a great article out about all kinds of interesting bacteria - from Pseudomonas syringae that can be used to seed rain to the amazing Deinococcus radiodurans, which apparently also goes under the name of "Conan the Bacterium"

The cracked.com article can be found here. Like everything on cracked, it shouldn't be taken as absolute gospel, but it's definitely worth an interested read!

I'll probably write more about Deinococcus radiodurans in the future. It's a fascinating bacteria, capable of living through extreme cold, dehydration, acidity, high levels of radiation and can even survive in a vacuum.
