Sometimes all that is needed to bring attention to old science is a new medium. Artist Amanda Heath brings a well-known extinct marine reptile, the ichthyosaur, back from the history books by pouring molten glass over a copper replica of its skeleton. The resulting sculpture can be seen in Glendon Mellow's Symbiartic post, Glass Fossils Inspire Molten Dreams.
