The Next Generation Science Conference, a #scio12 Wrapup

ShareShare  ShareEmail  PrintPrint

At the recent Science Online 2012 meeting, Lou Woodley of Nature.com and I led a really productive session on The Next Generation Science Conference, how scientific societies can use online outreach, and the role that bloggers and scientists online might play in it. We had a really great discussion on how to comment and create notes in real time, how to moderate for a productive discussion with present and distant people, how to archive the results of discussions, and how societies might go about dealing with scientist bloggers during scientific conferences.

The Storify (generously created by Laura Wheelers) is below. We would welcome any additions to the discussion! We will also be posting the notes of our session on the Science Online 2012 page for anyone who would like a bit more of an in depth look into our planning.
