Thousands of teenagers from around the world have submitted a science project to the Google Science Fair. Now it's your turn to participate.
The contest's judges have winnowed the field to 60 semifinalists across three age groups, and members of the public can vote at this point for which of those semifinalist projects should receive the People's Choice Award. The prize comes with a $10,000 college scholarship from Google. Take a look at some of the entries—it's both humbling and inspiring to see what these students are capable of doing.

The Google Science Fair kicked off in January, and Google says it received more than 7,500 entries from 90 countries [see video below]. (Scientific American is a partner in the science fair, and Editor in chief Mariette DiChristina is one of the judges.)
Voting for the People's Choice Award is open through May 20—click here to cast your vote. The winner will be announced May 23, and the overall contest winners will be announced in July.
