Like most star clusters, hypervelocity globular cluster 1 (HVGC-1) once belonged to a galaxy, but this unlucky object is now destined to wander the cosmos alone. Somehow, the cluster was ejected from its home galaxy, M87, and is now speeding away at more than two million miles per hour.
