Essay contest logo If you’ve been meaning to enter the Foundational Questions Institute essay contest, on the question "Is Reality Digital or Analog?", then you’d better cancel your Valentine’s Day date and brew some coffee for an all-nighter this weekend, because the deadline is Tuesday the 15th. I’ve started to thumb through the entries; they’re all freely available and everyone is invited to comment. So many of the submissions to FQXi’s first two essay contests, on the nature of time and the limits of physics, were must-reads for anyone interested in fundamental physics, and I have high hopes for this round as well.
