Scientific American at the USA Science & Engineering Festival

I’ll write a fuller post about the amazing things that kids are doing at Scientific American’s booth 1311 at the USA Science & Engineering Festival, but I wanted to share the short video below.

This article was published in Scientific American’s former blog network and reflects the views of the author, not necessarily those of Scientific American

I’ll write a fuller post about the amazing things that kids are doing at Scientific American’s booth 1311 at the USA Science & Engineering Festival, but I wanted to share the short video below. In it, you’ll meet the festival’s co-founders, Larry Bock and Ray O. Johnson of Lockheed Martin (which itself has a booth with 40+ activities in it here), Chris Botjes of the Society of American Magicians, and Aaron Alford and Jason Osborne of PaleoQuest and SharkFinder.

If you’re in D.C. today, there’s still time to join the fun. At our booth, Jason, Aaron and a team of volunteer scientists are helping kids as young as 2-1/2 make their own fossil finds with SharkFinder; our friends at the journals Frontiers, Frontiers for Young Minds and Nature Neuroscience are working with kids to review actual scientific papers; you can do some of our own Bring Science Home activities; and much more.
